Mortimer Berkowitz III
Mr. Berkowitz is an experienced and successful investment professional. He has had 21 years of private equity investing experience, including healthcare. Prior to forming BPI Capital Partners, LLC in 1990, Mr. Berkowitz spent 11 years in investment banking at Goldman Sachs,Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch. He is Chairman of Alphatec Spine, Inc. and BioHorizons Inc. Mr. Berkowitz is currently a member of the Board of Directors of DTI Dental Technologies Inc. and formerly of Scient’x Groupe, SAS. He is also on the Sponsors’ Board of ArgoSpine. He has served as a former Director of Nexa Orthopedics, Inc. and Physician Support Systems, Inc., former General Partner of Weston Partners, LLC and is currently a member of the Leadership Council of the Harvard School of Public Health. In 2008, MD&DI magazine recognized Mr. Berkowitz as one of the 100 notable people in the medical device industry. Mr. Berkowitz received a B.A. from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Columbia Graduate School of Business.

John H. Foster
Mr. Foster is a 37-year veteran of private equity investing as well as a successful entrepreneur and executive. He founded Foster Management Company in 1972, which has managed seven private equity funds. Mr. Foster has been CEO of most of Foster Management’s portfolio companies including NovaCare. He is Chairman of DTI Dental Technologies Inc. Mr. Foster is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Alphatec Spine, Inc., BioHorizons Inc. and formerly Scient’x Groupe, SAS. Mr. Foster is on the Dean’s Council at the Harvard School of Public Health, and a Trustee of the Burke Rehabilitation Hospital. He was formerly an Overseer of the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration, a Board Member of Avon, Inc. and Corning Incorporated and a Trustee of the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, where he served for 15 years. Mr. Foster received a B.A. from Williams College and an M.B.A. from Amos Tuck School, Dartmouth.

Mr. Chopack is an experienced professional in the orthopedic device industry. In addition to his private equity investment experience at HealthpointCapital
since the Firm’s inception, his direct orthopedic industry experience includes being a Sales Associate in orthopedic products for an independent distributor representing Wright Medical Group and Encore Medical and an Orthopedic internship with Dr. Robert Ruggiero. Prior to joining HealthpointCapital,

He is currently a member of the Board of Directors, Compensation Committee and Audit Committee of BioHorizons, Inc. Mr. Chopack received a B.A. from Lafayette College and an M.B.A. from Fordham University.
Craig S. Markovitz + CO FOUNDER
Mr. Markovitz is an experienced entrepreneur with a history of successful technology commercialization. He is a founder, and currently a board member and esteemed adviser of Blue Belt Technologies. Prior to founding Blue Belt, Mr. Markovitz worked with The Redleaf Group, Inc., a $285 million early stage venture capital fund, as the Chief Operating Officer of PenNetWorks, LLC at the University of Pennsylvania. Before joining Redleaf, Mr. Markovitz was an independent consultant providing services to university technology transfer offices and early stage businesses. Prior to this, Mr. Markovitz managed a $50 million portfolio as a corporate lender for PNC Bank and performed customer service and marketing activities for Nortel Networks in Chicago, IL.
Mr. Markovitz graduated with distinction from the MBA program at the Charles H. Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University in Chicago with a degree in Entrepreneurship, and graduated cum laude from Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, PA with a B.A. in Management. He has also taken continuing education courses at Carnegie Mellon University. He lives in Pittsburgh, PA with his wife and three children.

Prior to joining Blue Belt, Mr. Timko was the President and CEO of NeuroVasx, Inc., a Minneapolis-based company developing a unique therapeutic device to treat hemorrhagic stroke. Previously, he served as President of Carl Zeiss Surgical, Inc. and as Vice President of Siemens Medical Systems, Inc. Mr. Timko possesses a proven track record in building an effective and profitable sales and distribution organization. He brings vast experience in medical technologies both at the start-up and late stages of development and is very enthusiastic about Blue Belt Technologies’ current products and vision for the future.
